Q:I have a question about INFP Fact #15, INFPs in general (as far as I know) are very socially aware despite being introverted. I would think they are extremely aware of adequate social behavior but would rather not conform to it. How did you get to the conclusion that they "may be unaware of appropriate social behavior"?
I totally agree with you.
Note: INTROVERSION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING SOCIALLY AWARE. That’s a myth. It’s Fs that are the socially aware ones and Ts who are not.
The reality is actually the reverse of fact #15. Being Fi dominants, INFPs ( ISFPs, ENFPs and ESFPs) can get into another person’s “headspace” to figure out how to react to and interact with a person. The possible “not conforming” part is secondary Ne.
“Adequate social behavior,” is a biased term because it isn’t universal or objective (though Si and Fe would probably disagree with me); it differs from society to society, culture to culture and even more fundamentally, it differs functionally. What’s “adequate social behavior” to an NTJ (Ni+Te), certainly isn’t to an SFJ (Si+Fe).
Where the conclusion was drawn? I’m not sure. That’s a question for Hanna to answer. She can edit in her answer later if she sees this.
